The Practice

Ashtanga Yoga is characterized by the synchronisation of a conscious, rhythmic and stable breathing with movements and eye gaze. The sequences of postures developed allow for a deep cleansing that leads to the detoxification of the body and the mind. The practice combines breath, postures (asana), gazing points (distri), and internal holds (bandhas) that assist in the cultivation of physical, mental and spiritual health. One of the teachings received in the lineage carried by the Jois family is that the Ashtanga Yoga practice will ultimately lead to empower the control of the mind.

Yin Yoga Class

Yin Yoga Class

The Practice

Yin Yoga is one of such practices. Its main characteristic is that it slows down the rhythm, by increasing the time spent breathing so that healing happens. It is also indicated for those who are starting a yoga practice, as it allows the regeneration of tissues which will support a stronger Ashtanga practice. This is a class for you to relax your muscles and to drop your bones. For you to let go what are expectations about perfect postures… all is perfect the way it is. Connect with your feminine side and help it release the tensions accumulated.
